October time

I'm waiting for paint to dry so what better time to blog?! I haven't been on in a couple weeks. But I have pictures to share.

A couple weekends ago was my dear mother's birthday! She is the best mom in the world and the hardest working person I know. Thus she has nick names like "The Energizer Bunny" and "Wonder Wendy". If anyone knows my mom they know she makes amazing bread, she keeps a clean house and beautiful yard, she's up at 4 every morning to bike and/or run, and she is the most Christ like person. She and my brother rode their road bikes up to Ruthie's Diner in Emmigration Canyon where we had dinner for her birthday.

That same weekend was conference weekend. I spent it painting outside on the deck while listening to conference on the radio. (and eating of course) Part of celebrating a birthday is eating for three days over the course of the week!

At the end of the summer I got third in a 5K so I got free tickets to see "The Drowsy Chaperone" at Hale Center Theater. It was really funny! The tap dancing reminded me of the glory days when I did theater in high school. Oh and to make the night completely free, Sam and I got free dinner just for being part of a vitamin study.

While I'm on the topic of free stuff, my friend Parker gave Sam and me free tickets to see STYX in concert at the Salt Palace. We rode tracks downtown. It was pretty great. The keyboarder was insane. He was my favorite.

The past two weekends we've gone up the Alpine Loop and up Big Cottonwood Canyon to see the leaves changing. Alpine loop paled in comparison with BCC's neon colors. It was breathtaking. Unfortunately the camera was dead when we went up Big Cottonwood so the camera phone had to suffice.

The time I haven't been in class, enjoying the fall leaves, or taking benefit of free opportunities I've been in the Studio painting. I'm trying to listen to all of the Harry Potter books before the last movie comes out at the end of November. I'm on the third one tonight once I pick it up from the Provo Library! I posted some finished work on my art blog, aesthetic ground. Take a look!

(Next post I will be an aunt!!!)
